19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term coach Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of that year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has secured 21 titles at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, including in Halle in the past months.
The player's counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on court had led observers to question if his ability to perform at the top level was finished.
However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.
He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he earned the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
